Diversa signs biocatalysis deal with DuPont
A 6-year alliance has been agreed between Diversa and DuPont covering the development of biocatalysts for the production of fuel ethanol, 1,3-propanediol and other chemicals from renewable resources. Research funding, milestone payments, and royalties on any new products are to be received by Diversa from DuPont. A consortium that includes both DuPont and Diversa has received $19 M in matching funds from the Department of Energy to develop a refinery for making chemicals from biomass.
