H+CO2→OH+CO: Yield versus HI photolysls wavelength and OH rotational distributions under single-collision conditions and with CO2HI complexes

✦ Synopsis
The title reaction was studied under single-collision conditions using 227-285 nm HI photolysis. A large decrease in the OH yield was obsenred as the photolysis wavelength was increased. Rotational distributions were obtained at 227,239,251,263 and 280 MI. Similar yield versus wavelength data were obtained for C02HI complexes (233-263 nm). The OH rotational distribution obtained using 239 nm CO,HI photolysis differs markedly from its single-collision H+CO, counterpart.
