Chapter 6 highlights materials failures and what causes them. The systems approach, i.e., looking at an entire functional system or subsystem, to accident investigation is discussed in Chapter 7.
A few analytical techniques are presented and briefly reviewed in Chapter 8, which are then more thoroughly reviewed in the next six chapters.
