✦ Synopsis

This paper is the last one of a series of three 1)(2). It proves that the difference in the evolution laws of the compressive strength R r and of the elastic modulus E is just apparent. Indeed, on the one h~nd the micro-structure model developed regarding R evolution allows tc account for E evolution, its validity is thus strengthened,on the other hand R c and E both obey laws of the same type, R c = Roe-An

Eo e A' and E = -n

We show that this dual behaviour is due to the fact that E o and A' are much more sensitive than R and A to the hardening time or the hydra-Lion degree. This allows u~ to forsee the possibility of a selective altering of E and R c.

This paper is the first of a series of three. For Portland cement pastes, it presents a model of the micro-structure and the associated compressive strength law which will be the base of the two following papers. Model and strength law involve that the most important parameter influencing the stren
