โœฆ Synopsis

On January 24, 1999, Matthew Scott became the recipient of the first hand transplantation in the United States. The procedure was performed after several years of preparation by researchers, surgeons, and many others at Jewish Hospital, the University of Louisville, and Kleinert, Kutz and Associates Hand Care Center in Louisville, Kentucky. Mr. Scott was, at that time, a 37-year-old paramedic who lost his dominant left hand in 1985 when an M-80 firecracker exploded in his hand.
