Max Cornell es reclutado para infiltrarse y desactivar una red ciber-terrorista llamada «La Furia», conformada por víctimas de la estafa hipotecaria del 2008 y hackers antisistema. Se sospecha que la banda es liderada por Randall Groove, un joven superdotado cuyo padre se suicidó después de perder su casa en esa funesta crisis del 2008. Max contará con la ayuda de un hacker «converso» apodado Samus, y de su habitual colaborador Dylan. Las autoridades europeas y norteamericanas tendrán 48 horas para cumplir con las exigencias de «La Furia», o colapsará su sistema financiero.
