✦ Synopsis

is proportional to the intercept divided by the sixth power of the radius.

It may be noted that use of this graphical analysis of the X-ray scattering data lectds to a much better agreement between the two difIerent methods of cluster size determination.

The sizes of the two fractions obtained by the X-ray technique correspond fairly well to the smallest and largest cluster sizes measured by the electron microsoopy technique. It WM not possible to decompose the sc&tering curve any further so as to obtain ~~~e~a~ size fractions. This limit&ion of the method may be a result of the small range of cluster size.

It will be noted, furthermore, that the weight and number fractions of the clusters obtained from the X-ray data indioste a heavy preponderance of the smaller cluster size. This finding also brings the X-my results into much better agreement with those of transmission electron microscopy. These results may give one confidence that in the size range of 20 A-50 A good agreement o&n be obtained in the determination of particle size by X-ray and electron microscopy techniques.
