โฆ Synopsis
Consultations in anatomic pathology are necessary for the practice of high-quality and cost-efficient clinical medicine. 1 A few years ago, the Association of Directors of Anatomic and Surgical Pathology (ADASP) prepared a document listing guidelines to facilitate consultations in surgical pathology. 2 This document, one of the first of its kind, was designed to help pathologists and institutions formulate policies to govern the practice of pathologic consultation. However, the contents of that document did not address certain issues specific to the principles and practice of cytopathology. In this article, we propose some guidelines for handling such consultations.
