โฆ Synopsis
Over the last two decades, the field of neuroimaging has made tremendous progress and had an impact in basic and clinical neuroscience. The development of new MRI techniques such as functional MRI, diffusion MRI, high-resolution structural imaging, voxel-based morphology, and arterial spin labeling, have enabled us to study brain structures and functions at the millimeter to submillimeter level.
This special issue covers the recent progress in neuroimagingfrom brain anatomy to function. It starts with Dr. Alavi's review of PET in clinical brain imaging which gives us the perspective of PET as a brain imaging modality. Then we have a collection articles that discuss the cutting edge methodological advances in MRI covering fMRI and ASL by Drs. Cho, Kim, Wang, and Liang, Diffusion-based MRI by Drs. Ozcan and Tournier and cross-relaxation imaging by Dr. Stikov. These technical development articles are followed by application papers presented by Drs. Kim, Morocz, and Jang.
