Growth of single crystal PrFeAsO1−y and its characterization

✦ Synopsis

We have successfully grown single crystals of oxygen deficient oxypnictide superconductor PrFeAsO 1Ày using high pressure synthesis technique. Typical crystal size is about 600 Â 800 Â 30 lm 3 , with its T c = 44 K. Their resistivity measurements under magnetic field yield the anisotropic factor C $ 5, consistent with previous results on smaller single crystals.
