โฆ Synopsis
Nearly perfect single crystals of LiNbO 3 were grown by the Czochralski technique using a crystal growth system developed in our laboratory. The post growth annealing cycle was optimized to avoid deformations which are introduced as the crystal undergoes a structural phase transformation. The crystalline perfection was evaluated by high-resolution X-ray diffractometry. The half-widths of the diffraction curves were found to be in the range 10-20 arcsec, showing the good quality of these crystals.
