## Growth and Characterization of Urea-(DL) Tartaric Acid Single Crystals A new organic UV nonlinear optical crystal urea-(DL)tartaric acid [CO(NH&-(DL) C~H~OG] (abbreviated as U(DL)T) is reported. Large single crystals have been grown from aqueous solution by the cooling method. They belong to th

β¦ Synopsis
Abstract
Single crystals of ferroelectric succinic acid were grown from aqueous solution by low temperature solution growth technique. The cell parameters and space group are found using powder Xβray diffraction analysis. The presence of the functional groups has been estimated qualitatively by FTIR analysis. The UVβVisible spectrum shows the cutβoff wavelength at 240 nm. The thermal stability of the crystal was studied by TG/DTA. The dielectric constant of the crystal studied as a function of frequency shows the pyroelectric property. (Β© 2007 WILEYβVCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
