β¦ Synopsis
Abstract
Single crystals of the NLO active lithium sulphate monohydrate were grown successfully by slow evaporation technique. The asβgrown crystal was clear, transparent and the size of the crystal attained was 14 x 8 x 5 mm^3^ within a period of 4 weeks. The crystal was subjected to Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Thermal analysis (TG/DTA), UVβVis analysis, mechanical and dielectric studies. Theoretical calculations for band gap energy were made. An attempt was made to calculate polarizability by Penn analysis and compare with the traditional method and results are tabulated.
