Abstract

Athermal formation of vacancy clusters in displacement cascades is considered in the binary collision approximation. A diagram technique describing the process is suggested. On this basis the group representation of the formation process of vacancy cluster is constructed. The vacancy distribution in the clusters is found in good agreement with the computer simulation results for both f.c.c. and b.c.c. metals.
