โœฆ Synopsis


The magnetic specific heat of CeB6 is investigated considering the phonon dispersion of acoustic and optical modes to correct the phonon subtraction. The anomaly around 40 K in the magnetic specific heat of CeB 6 observed previously is explained by the difference of the phonon flattening frequencies between CeB 6 and LaB 6. There is no anomaly in the magnetic specific heat of CeB6 above T o. The ground state of CeB 6 above T O is a nonsplit F s quartet.
