β¦ Synopsis
The ground state constants (A_{0}, D_{0}^{X}), and (H_{0}^{X}) of the (\mathrm{CH}{3} \mathrm{CN}) molecule have been determined by combining the high-resolution Fourier transform spectra of the lowest fundamental band (\nu{8}), of the combination band (v_{7}+v_{8}), and of the hot band (v_{7}+v_{8}-v_{8}). The ground state term value differences (F(J, K+3)-F(J, K)) were deduced for five (K) values (0-4). From almost 400 differences. the following results (in (\mathrm{cm}^{-1}) ) were obtained: (A_{0}=5.2736171(26) . D_{0}^{K}=94.46(15) \times 10^{-6}). and (H_{0}^{\hat{K}}=5.2(24) \times 10^{-9}). 1993 Academic Press. Inc.

Pure rotational spectra of gaseous CH 3 SiH 3 in the two interacting torsional states (Β£ 12 Γ 0, Β£ 6 Γ 3) and (Β£ 12 Γ 1, Β£ 6 Γ 0) were observed in the region from 87 to 197 GHz using a mm-wave spectrometer. Here Β£ 12 and Β£ 6 are, respectively, the principal quantum numbers for the silyl rocking mode
The infrared spectrum in the range 900-1230 cm -1 including the fundamental bands Ξ½ 3 and Ξ½ 6 of CD 3 CN has been studied. The resolution attained was 0.0025 cm -1 in the measurement on the Bruker 120 HR Fourier spectrometer in Oulu. About 4000 lines were assigned in the Ξ½ 6 band. For the weak Ξ½ 3 b
