✦ Synopsis
in so-octane solutions contammg small concentrations of the polar solvents butanol or ethyl acetate, a ground&ate complex between the solute I-methqlmdole and the polar solvent IS formed. Previous workers ascriied the fluorescence mtenslty and spectral shifts of I-methybndole m polar solvents to exclplex formatron. However we show that these Ruorescence propertres are entuely explamed m terms of ground-state complexes.
