✦ Synopsis
The groundstate and electronic excited states of deuterated sodiumnitroprusside have been investigated by neutron diffraction as well as by optical and Mossbauer techniques. To our knowledge for the first time small but significant structural changes in O-N-Fe-C-N bond distances and temperature factors in an electronically excited state have been measured directly by neutron diffraction
