โฆ Synopsis
Abstract
The literature on grief is reviewed with particular reference to old age. The characteristics of normal and abnormal grief are discussed and as far as possible a comparison between older and younger adults is made. The results are inconclusive but suggest that grief is a similar process in all adults but may be less malign in the over 65s. Whatever the differences, grief is a serious problem with a definite associated morbidity and mortality.
