โฆ Synopsis
Existing difference equation methods to analyse laterally loaded diagrids and orthogonal grids are extended to obtain closed form solutions for simply supported gridworks with elastically supported innernodes. The free oscillations of these grids are also studied treating the mass of the beams to be lumped at the nodes. The stiffness of the elastic supports increases all the natural frequency values of the grids and in particular, that of the fundamental frequency significantly.

The research reported here deals with the non-linear vibration and the static and flutter instabilities of a uniform beam that is elastically supported by a horizontal and vertical spring at each of the two ends of the member. The beam is also subjected to axial and transverse restraints. The axial
