β¦ Synopsis
COVER PICTURE
The cover picture shows the structure of a five-membered cyclic ruthenium oxaphosphacarbene complex [TpRuCl{ΞΊ 2 -(C,P)ΟC(CH 2 R)OCH 2 P(CH 2 -OH) 2 }] (R Ο p-C 6 H 4 Me). Different neutral and cationic oxaphosphacarbene complexes were obtained by reaction of [TpRuCl(PPh 3 )(thp)] with terminal alkynes. The proposed mechanism implies vinylidene or allenylidene intermediates that undergo intramolecular nucleophilic addition to the Ξ±-carbon atom by one of the hydroxymethyl groups of the thp ligand. Details are discussed in the article by S. Bolan Λo, J. Bravo et al. on p. 685ff. We thank Dr.

## Abstract **The cover picture shows** the molecular structure of an atropochiral C,Xβchelating ligand with the 1,1β²βbinaphthyl backbone of BINAP and P,Xβchelating XβMOP analogues. The primal role of the carbon element in the determination of chemical chirality is symbolized in the background by t
