✦ Synopsis

general review of catalytic laboratory reactors is presented which emphasizes gradientless reactors. Details are given on a new gradientless reactor system which is well designed for transient experiments. This reactor has a low ratio of gas volume to catalyst volume. Experimental results verify that the reactor is well-mixed and free from undesirable mass and heat transfer effects under reactions conditions. The desirability and utilization of such a reactor is discussed.
