Springer journal with that name. The speciality of the contribution of the author is that he linked gradient analysis (which he learned while at Cornell with Whittaker) with modeling of ecosystem dynamics, particularly changes related to fire and weather conditions. Although the book has an attractive title which appears to promote the product (by Gradient Modeling Inc., a nonprofit company to which the author is attached) gradient modeling as a concept does not make sense. It is a linguistic contamination, implying the fusion of two approaches, but certainly not a new integrated approach for the modeling of gradients.
