There is extensive reference to the molecular pharmacology of receptors usefully relating this to other categorisations, which those studying for the MCQ of the MRCPsych will find useful. The authors have kept references in each chapter to a minimum, which means these do not provide a comprehensive literature review, but do direct those readers who are interested to such reviews.
Overall this is probably too specialised a book for individual trainees in psychiatry to own, but it will be a valuable addition to any post-graduate psychiatric library. Be warned, however, that its shelf life may be limited as this is a rapidly changing field.

Janine Lees on research, which certainly lives up to its' billing as an 'everything-you-need-to-know' account. Suitable for those with an active interest in therapeutic communities, from psychiatrists to patients, nursing staff to social workers, this book is easy to read. It helped me understand s
