At fifteen, Casey Legler is already one of the fastest swimmers in the world. She is also an alcoholic, isolated from her family, and incapable of forming lasting connections with those around her.

Born in France to expatriate American parents,Caseygrew up in Provence, and went on to swim for France in the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, graduated cum laude from Smith College, and currently divides her time between New York and Sydney, Australia with her wife, Siri May.
