As the ability of each higher education system to produce the highly-skilled citizens required in the twenty first century becomes crucial, governments are recognizing and responding to global, as well as local, economic and cultural changes. Moreover, as the effects of globalization spread, their impact upon individual governments and their higher education institutions are becoming steadily more apparent. This book charts the key issues that are involved in reforming higher education to meet new global challenges.
