McI)onough occupies a prominent [:)lace.
McDonough came prominently I)efi>rc the scientific men in this country as a party to the famous telephone interference suits, deehu'ed in the United States Patent Office dm'ing the last eight or nine years. On" the 10th of April, 1876, McDonough filed an application in the United Stat.es'~atent Office for a" Teleloge, or a means for transmitting articulate sounds frnm one place to al>other through the medium of electricity."
