✦ Synopsis


Employing electrochemical cells with the solid zirconia electrolyte Cu20, Cu2Ln2Oa, Ln203 II 0 2-II air and Cu20, CuGd204, Gd203 [I O2-11 air the Gibbs free energy of formation of the solid Cu2Ln205 (Ln=Yb, Tm, Er, Ho, Dy) and CuGd204 phases was determined. The results obtained were used to derive Gibbs free energy change of reactions of formation of these compounds from the respective oxides in the following form AG~215 AG~215 zXG~ AG~215 A G~ A g0oxides (Cu2Yb2Os) = 19 429 -22.02 TJ mol -l (Cu2Tm2Q) = 35 275-34.09 TJ mol-(Cu2Er2Os) = 17 427-19.61 TJ mol-1 (Cu2Ho2Q) = 18 165-19.49 TJ mo1-1 (Cu2Dy2Os) = 16648-17.58 TJ mo1-1 (CuGd2Q) --9562-12.29 TJ mol-1
