✦ Synopsis

The Midwest is alive today with ghost stories. It always has been: spectral lost souls sorrowing forsaken down dimly lit Victorian corridors, portals flickering unseen between worlds, irridescent fog creeping eerily through the lacy darkness of crumbling Illinois cemeteries. But where does one begin? We could start with Rockford located in Nothern Illinois, in a place which was first called Midway by a Connecticut land speculator named Germanicus Kent, although rumour has it that Mrs. Kent, (the former Miss Arabella Amiss) first suggested the boundaries lay halfway between Chicago and Galena, IL. A place teeming with assorted scoundrels, and saints, the eccentric and the tragic, the melancholy, and jolly, reflected through the changing beliefs in religion, politics and inherent superstition.  Ghost stories from Galena, Belvidere, Freeport, Capron, Rockford, and farm villages in Northern Illinois.
