for reducing their occurrence as well as methods for debugging. It is nice to find authors that are prepared to describe their own experiences of creating and debugging mistakes.

This together with the use of Practice Sets at the end of Chapters 3, 5 and 9, with solutions provided at the end of the book makes this guide appeal to me. I do hesitate in recommending the book because for me the guide does not dwell long enough on each topic, but for people who prefer a more punch-line approach it is probably ideal.
