Abstract

The paper discusses a study on the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) by Australian international development agencies. ICT use was considered in two contextsβ€”within industrialized countries, and between industrialized and developing countries (DCs). In these contexts, the use of ICTs at operational and strategic levels was examined. Findings show that ICT use was most common at operational levels within industrialized countries. ICT use in DCs was complicated by poor infrastructure and technologyβ€”culture conflicts. Copyright Β© 2002 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
