β¦ Synopsis
Based on the topo-bathymetric map of a coastal compartment, relief analysis is used to determine long-term morphological evolution by means of a number of cartographical techniques--trend surface analysis, slope analysis, roughness analysis and stream network analysis. An overall picture is deduced from the quannfication of erosion and deposition obtained by comparing topo-bathymetric charts, revealing the short-term evolution. These results are then used to estimate the impact of developments.
