✦ Synopsis

We find a condition (6) under which a gauge theory of the Poincar~ group is equivalent to the Einstein-Caftan theory of gravitation.

After the discovery of gauge theories a lot of authors [ 1-3] attempted to put gravitation into this scheme. As was stressed by them, a generalization of the Einstein gravity to admit nonzero torsion (so-called Einstein-Cartan theory [4] ) could be considered as a gauge theory of the Poincar6 group. However a geometrical meaning of the transition between those two approaches
