## Abstract During recent years medicoβgeographical studies on lung cancer in the USSR have been intensified. The results of these studies are reflected in works on the geographical distribution of lung cancer and on the influence of unfavourable naturalβeconomic factors upon lung cancer incidence.

Abstract
This work presents statistical data on breast cancer incidence in the population of the USSR and the Union republics (1970β1980). Mortality rates for the population are also presented, together with trends in compilation of breast cancer patient contingents. The study was based on summarized data on breast cancer incidence and patient followβup carried out by oncological institutions.
