The effects of basal media, growth regulators and gelling agents on the morphogenetic response of eleven Cucumis melo L. var. reticulatus and inodorus genotypes were examined. Regeneration was achieved from cultured cotyledons of all genotypes and the morphogenic response was affected by the genetic background. Among the combination of factors tested, MS basal medium supplemented with 2.8 gM 6-benzyladenine (BA) and 1.0 BM abscisic acid (ABA) solidified with agar gave the highest frequency of shoot regeneration.

Treatment differences were observed in the in vitro adventitious shoot regeneration response from internodal explants of three genotypes of Populus deltoides cultured on media supplemented with five concentrations each of the cytokinins 6-benzyladenine, 2-isopentyladenine, and zeatin. For each of th
