✦ Synopsis

The known recursion relationship for the partition function p(n) which represents the number of partitions of the positive integer n is exhibited as the limit as q Γ„ in one identity and as the case 1 substituted for q in a second formula that arise from a matrix problem over the field of q elements. Such identities can be further generalized.

## Abstract In this paper we introduce the Random Recursive Partitioning (RRP) matching method. RRP generates a proximity matrix which might be useful in econometric applications like average treatment effect estimation. RRP is a Monte Carlo method that randomly generates non‐empty recursive partit
