In the UK, Garlock has relaunched the Blue-Gard Style 3000 gasket material. A review of the company's manufacturing process, followed by a value engineering exercise, has allowed the company to offer competitive prices on this material.
The material is a general-purpose, aramid fiber, gasket sheet manufactured with elastomeric binders. The gasket material demonstrates good recovery rates, which ensures high levels of torque retention.
Blue-Gard Style 3000 is recommended for gas and steam duties, and now has WRc approval for use in potable water applications. It has been used extensively in the nuclear power industry for site services steam, and now meets all the requirements of BS 7531 Grade Y, which allows a maximum temperature of 370°C and a maximum pressure of 70 bar.
