✦ Synopsis
A mono-q-polyhex is a system consisting of one q-gon and otherwise hexagons (if any). These systems are treated in general terms for q= 3-6 with emphasis on the extremal mono-g-polyhexes. General C.H, formulae are reported for the circular systems and for members of constant-isomer series. The case of q=4 (monotetrapolyhexes) applies to polycyclic hydrocarbons called biphenylenoids since biphenylene is a representative among several chemically known polycyclic hydrocarbons of interest. The first systematic enumeration of biphenylenoid isomers is reported.
