For the sake of simplicity we restrict ourselves to one-place propositional functions (classes), but without difficulty the considerations could be extended to more-place functions.

  1. The sentences of these three types refer practically t o the so-called "alethic modalities" in the (wider) sense of WRIQHT; if we take "alethic modalities" in the strict sense as "modalities in regard to truth and falsehood", only the sentences of the third type refer to them.
