โฆ Synopsis
GEC's distributed-processing system
GEC's Mechanical Engineering Laboratory (MEL) at Whetstone, Leicester, is using a distributedprocessing system to solve a wide range of engineering problems. The system, which comprises access to two IBM 370 series mainframes, and four Hewlett-Packard 9800 series desktop computers, gives the MEL the hands-on availability and BASIC programming of the smaller machines together with the numbercrunching power of the mainframes.
