Flex-o-Form S has a compressibility of 15%, but has excellent recovery capabilities. It is easily deformed and provides a good sealing effect even with a surface pressure of only 20 N/mm ~.

On comparative trials against Quartz-PTFE pipeline flange seals within a chemical industry environment, Flex-o-Form seals were applied in a vinyl acetate monomer manufacturing plant. The material was tested for 24 hours in DN20 to DN80 diameter systems carrying vinyl acetate, ethylene and acetic acid media at 10 bar pressure and at 180°C. Results against the comparative material showed that Flex-o-Form was easier to install and resulted in considerably less leakage, even when seals had been re-used up to 25 times.
