✦ Synopsis
The ESR spectra of 31P. 75As, 12'Sb and 123 Sb in the 4S3,2 ground state are reported. The free gaseous atoms were obtained in a vacuum cavity by reaction of ntomic hvdrogcn with the vapour of ~~13. AsCl d and SbC13 respectively, at total pressures below 0.8 torr. A possible reaction mechanism is propose . The observed hyperfine coupling and quadrupole coupling constants and &-values are for 31~: A = 55.15(6) MHz. B = 0. gJ = 2.0020(2): for 75As: A = 66.2(l) MHz. J3 = O-13(3) MHz. g-= 1.9983(l): for 12%b: A = 298.6(l) MHz. B = 6.86(S) MHz. gJ= 1.9708(l) and for 123Sb: A = 162.3(3) MHz. B = 1.3(l) MHz and S.J = 1.9708(l).
