✦ Synopsis

A study of solute adsorption for two typical donor amines at the gas-liquid interface of a stationary phase containing an acceptor as additive has shown that relationships between activity coefficients and complexing power do not arise as a result of such adsorption. A very small surface effect may be present when primary amines are used as solutes but this can be minimised by using column loadings greater than ten per cent. I A. R. COOPER,
