โฆ Synopsis
A new design of gas-cooled current leads is described. In order to optimize them, the differential equations of stationary temperature distribution for variable coefficients were solved by means of an analogue computer. The influence of the variable cross-section A(x) and the zero evaporation rate are studied. Hefium losses are approximately 1.9 cm3/A h for a pair of leads operating at the optimum current.
