We present gas chromatographic/mass spectrometric and gas chromatographic/isotope ratio mass spectrometric assays of the 13C enrichment of plasma urea converted to its dimethylaminomethylene derivative. The limits of sensitivity of the two techniques are 0.2% and 0.02%, respectively. The techniques

✦ Synopsis
A mixture of ten synthesized
(2-C i0 n-alkyl benzyl succinates (ABS) was separated using a gas chromatographic column packed with 3% OV-101 on Gas-Chrom Q. For all ABS, the programmed retention indices were determined and mass spectra were obtained by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.
The mass spectral fragmentation of this type of compound is discussed.
