This paper summarises the results obtained by the gas chromatographic identification of ten alkyl 3-chloro-z-hydroxypropyl ethers with alkyl chains in the range of c,-c,,.
As the best liquid phase polyglycerol can be recommended; the best column temperature is 130' for the C,-C, derivatives and 150~ for the C,,-Cr, derivatives. The relationship between the number of carbon atoms in the alkyl chain and the logarithm of the retention time is linear in the range of C,-C,,.
