## Abstract Ξ±βFluorocarboxamides 3aβ3e can be prepared by treatment of the corresponding Ξ±βhydroxycarboxamides with diethylaminosulfur trifluoride. The infrared spectra argue strongly against the existence of intramolecular hydrogen bonds between the amino group and the fluorine atom.
