✦ Synopsis
Abstract
2‐Hydroxy‐5‐methylbenzophenone (E) and (Z) oximes and 5,8‐diethyl‐7‐hydroxy‐6‐dodecanone (E) and (Z) oximes have been treated with N,O‐bis(trimethylsilyl)acetamide (BSA) to give di‐(trimethylsilyl) derivatives. The GLC data and the combined GC‐MS analysis of derivatized oximes are presented. Di‐(trimethylsilyl) derivatives of (E) and (Z) isomers of hydroxyaromatic oximes retain the configuration of starting hydroxyoxime. The (Z) oxime of aliphatic alpha‐hydroxy‐ketone gives di‐TMS derivative of changed configuration.

A novel algorithm is described for the improved estimation of isotopomer ratios from gas chromatographic/mass spectrometric data. The minor isotopomer peak proÐle is Ðtted to an admixture of the major proÐle and its Ðrst and second derivatives. By this means allowance is made for non-coincidence in
