Es wird eine Methode zur quantitativen Bestimmung von Monoethanolamin (EA) in pflanzlichem Material beschrieben. Nach Vorreinigung des Extraktes mittels Ionenaustauschchromatographie erfolgt die Quantifizierung gaschromatographisch durch Silylierung des EA-Hydrochlorids mit N,O-Bis-(trimethylsily1)-trifluoracetamid/Trimethylchlorsilan. Unter Verwendung von I4C-EA als innerem Standard wird die Auswertung uber die Isotopenverdunnungsanalyse vorgenommen. Mit dieser Methode wird gezeigt, dalJ der EA-Gehalt im Sommergerstenkorn sortentypische Unterschiede aufwekt (2,5-5.3 ppm) und daB die Applikation von Monoethanolamin zum Feekes-Stadium 6 keine Erhohung des endogenen EA-Gehaltes bewirkt.
