β¦ Synopsis
The influence of the adsorption of nitric oxide (NO) and nitrogen dioxide (NO,) and of embedding the ZnO powder in KBr on the excess-charge-carrier dynamics in ZnO powder is investigated by contactless transient photoconductivity measurements. Different behaviour is observed in loose powder and pellets prepared from this powder. The transient photoconductivity decay changes dramatically after adsorption of the nitrogen oxides: Adsorption of NO2 leads lo a much faster decay of the photoconductivity, adsorption of NO leads to a slower decay in the time range up to 100 ms and a faster decay in the longer time range.
